Spanish Harlem...-Ben E. King

We all had a "Tiempo Feliz" at our "Spanish" themed Bunko party on Tuesday!

The courtyard was all aglow with candles and twinkle lights, as flames blazed in the fireplace.

Fresh flowers adorned the inviting kitchen, which was filled with amazing aromas, and the laughter of good friends!

We all know "Miss E" is an amazing cook, but she REALLY outdid herself this time! She claims to have acquired her "skills" in the New York "barrio" where she grew up.

On the dinner menu were empenadas called Pastelillos, Cod fritters, Arroz con Pollo (chicken and rice), Red beans with potatoes, tossed salad, chips and salsa, and a delightful "shrimp in garlic sauce" dish. A fruity, chilled Sangria was the perfect compliment.

What an elegant setting! Gold and Claret bone china accented with gold-rimmed Italian stemware graced the formal dining table.

We all gathered here to sample the Spanish delights!

Of course, Lisa brought her chocolate frosted brownies, and Melissa added her home-made chocolate cupcakes with peanut-butter frosting for dessert! Yummy!

We all sampled a white rum-based after-dinner drinks called "coquitos". I am pretty sure this means "little frog" in "espanol", but hey, I've been wrong before.

Carrie (the dentist) thinks maybe it might be nice warmed up!

Cathi "Mmmmmmarinello" samples the beverage...

I think she likes it! Hey, Mikey!

Cathi's mom, Anne, (I like to refer to her as "Anne-imal" ) was a real sport! BTW, Miss A, I am SOOO diggin' that wild animal print sweater! You fit RIGHT IN!!!!

Melissa was lovin' this new concoction!

Conversation topics included falling home prices, furry squirrels, "swing sets", a possible Crosbyotch Vegas trip, guys named Dave, and hot text messages.

Then, the DANCE LESSONS STARTED!!!!

Hey, Melissa, can I get some "chips" with that "DIP"? Nice work!!!

Even little Missy got in on the action!

Catherine (just accepted into Duke Law from her current Notre Dame!), and Maryann, the most amazing baby-sitter and friend! (no, she is not available!...I need her all the time!)

I forgot to bring this framed photo over in time for the party.

Anyway, I am not sure exactly how much I ate...I only know that it is past noon on Wednesday, and I am still full!!!

MUCHO DELICIOSO !!!

Until next time, Crosbyotches...Ole'!!!
